The FullView FV33i Gas Insert

It can be difficult to engineer a fireplace insert with a big view of the fire, as the height of the viewing window is limited by the need to fit the insert into the height of the average fireplace. To further complicate matters, the gas valve and user controls are typically installed in a compartment under the firebox, taking up space that could be used to increase the size (and view) of the fire chamber.

Mendota's engineers went to work on this challenge, and came up with some innovative solutions, including relocating the gas valve to the side and incorporating a multi-function remote control, so virtually ALL functions can be controlled from across the room. This freed up the space under the firebox, enabling the design team to enlarge the burn chamber and increase the view of the fire by a whopping 33%! With the incorporation of a new, high-definition log set and burners, the FullView FV44i was born.

Not everybody needs a big insert like the 41,400 btu FV44i, so Mendota's engineers went back to the drawing board to create a smaller version.
